Snow!!
Makes me sad I just sold my A4... but i got a great price, so i guess its worth it to be with out quattro for now.
I agree with all those above, Quattro is amazing in the snow... EXCEPT it will not help you stop and it WILL NOT replace driver skills. Someone who knows how to drive in the snow in any car (AWD, 2WD or 4WD) will waste a quattro car with an inexperienced driver. First off, go in an empty parking lot and drive around, get the feel of the car in corners, and stopping distances. The last thing you want to do is wreck your new Audi because you didn't first go have fun in the parking lot and get used to it!
On another note, my A4 was by far the best winter car I have ever driven. Here in northern michigan we get a lot of snow, and Quattro rocks! I have driven a lexus 300 AWD, subaru impreza outback AWD and many trucks/suvs 4wd.... when i first took my A4 out I was blown away at the improvement over any of these other cars! Needless to say... I will be getting a A4 Quattro, Audi 90 Quattro... or anything else quattro that I can afford when I next get the chance!

I've also had a couple Jeep CJ-7s and a passle of fwd vehicles. The A6 is better than all of them. The weight helps it cut through the snow and it goes where it is pointed. I can make it break loose and fishtail, but it takes some effort (ya gotta crank the wheel and give it gas, and even then it seems to correct itself a lot of times). Someone mentioned the clearance - true - when there's over 8-9" of snow on the roads, you can hear the snow pound the plastic engine shield on the bottom of the car. We generally average >2 meters of lake effect snow per winter in sw Michigan, so I get a lot of practice driving in snow. The car is absolutely outstanding when there is 2-3" of packed snow on the highway.
That being said, other than having ESP and ASB, it still doesn't stop any better than anything else on ice.

Old person car?? WTF?? [&:]
I'm only 16, but I've never heard anyone call an A4 an old person car. I've heard Melange be called an old person color, though - probably why I've NEVER seen anA4 my color with the sport suspension.

Oh, and definitely keep an eye on the STL thread in the Mid West section. It we do have a GTG, it'll probably be on a Saturday, so posting what time you'll be available will be helpful, as well.
Yeah.. its my old person car... pharmacists tend to get kinda pissed when the photo tech that works at the same place as them drives a nicer car haha
But I think part of that has to do with the color too.. but oh well.. I like it, so who cares lol
but yeah.. I usually work at like 3pm on saturdays.. so really anything before that.. but my schedule varies week by week
