Default soft clicking noise behind dash

Recently purchased a used 2005 A6 - C6 platform

Have noticed as weather gets colder that when I drive my car for the first 10 minutes or so, I hear a soft clicking noise behind the dash. It alternates from side to side about once every second or two. First driver side, then passenger side, then driver side, etc.

It sounds to me like relays clicking, but this is just a guess.

Does anyone else have this in their A6 or other Audi and know what causes it? I don't think anything is wrong with the vehicle...just wondering what the noise is from. It seems to go away after about 10 minutes. I don't know if it has something to do with the climate control system, or something else.

It is probably the movement of the climate control air flap motors as the car warms up.

Makes sense. I will turn off the climate control when I hear the clicking and see if it goes away. If so, we'll the flaps are the culprits.

Next question: Is the sound considered normal, or is it indicative of a problem with the system?
