Default Solved: no volume for Track 8 of any CD?

My 2004 A6 has Boss in dash 6-CD and it has an issue of not having volume for track 8 of any CD. The timer would continue to increment but there was no volume from the speakers. If I forward or rewind a track, then it plays just fine. It's always track 8. Very weird!

Since track 8 would be at different location for different CD, this doesn't look like a physical problem but more of a software glitch/bug?

If you have any idea, please let me know. thanks!

If cd cleaner doesnt work then you might need a software update...I cant remember if 2004 has MMI or not

2004 does not have MMI, so that is not the issue. Perhaps one of our electrical guros can suggest a solution.

Tried CD cleaner. didn't make any difference. So I called dealership. their rep said they don't diagnose and fix head units, instead they simply replace the whole thing if that's what I want.

One of my colleague overheard this and suggested hard resetting the unit by cutting off power. So, when I got back home today, I pulled the fuse to radio, waited a few secs, then re-inserted it. And it WORKED! the problem is gone for good!!!

Great that it is fixed. Especially when it is something as simple as that. Just keep an eye on it, as electrical gremlins have a tendancy of coming back unless they are 'really' fixed.

Did you have to use a security code after you powered it back up?
