Special Care for a Turbo?

Special Care for a Turbo?
Greetings,
I've done some searching on these forums, and if my answer is out there and I've missed it, I apologize.
I recently purchased an Audi A6 2.7T Quattro (2001, automatic transmission). I was searching for anything, really, with AWD, and just kind of stumbled on this car. I must say I'm really liking it. I've never owned anything with a turbo before, so I was hoping someone out there might be able to give me some idea of what to expect, such as:
1. - Should you drive a turbo differently than any other engine?
2. - Are there any indicators a turbo may be failing (other than billowing smoke, which I did get from other posts)?
3. - For someone who does not work on their own cars, what are the BS indicators? (BS Indicator: term a mechanic, or otherwise more-tech savvy individual, might use to explain to a novice a non-existent condition to instill fear and costly, unnecessary repairs.)
Thanks much.

See the sticky in this section "tips and suggestions for new 2.7T owner". Oil and cool down is important, as well as letting it warm up a little before driving in cold weather. Remember turbos spin at about 20k rpm so a good oil bath is critical to their life.

Good to see the sense of humor is alive and well. Turn signal fluid -- haven't heard that one in a while.
