Default Stainless vs Aluminum Air Intake Heat Shield

I want to get a heat shield for my intake, I have a cone intake. I know people say dont do it, but I have to find out for myself if its not a good idea. You live and learn.

Basically my question is; Dose stainless steel heat sheilds($10 + shipping ) block heat or just go with a aluminumheat sheild ($50 + shipping) Dose stainless block heat, but at the same time get hot itself so it give off heat?

If no one knows because they haven't tried it, thats cool too.
