Default steam from engine

I don't think it's any thing that serious but still have to check. I went out for a test drive to try some new stuff with my car. So I'd hit the acceleration really hard on take off, kick down every second. I was basically going really crazy with it. Any ways I opened the hood after wards and there was a little bit of steam coming out of the left side of the engine. It wasn't really something noticeable, but there was a little coming out. Is that something serious or is it just from the engine oil heating up?

If it smelled sweet its coolant, most likely its a small leak from the valve cover gasket or cam adjuster seal. If it keeps leaking you will notice an oil burning smell inside the car.

that's actually true, my car does have a an oil leak from the cam adjuster seal. I'm just ignoring it because it's crazy expensive to fix. All I do is add oil when it gets low. By the way can just the seal be changed, or does the whole cam adjuster has to be changed. And does it really cost $600 to fix?

No you don't have to change the tensioner, the tensioner costs $600 just by itself LOL.
Its a common up sell for dealers these days, the book says to have to R&R the timing belt and both camshafts in order to pull out the tensioner and get at the seals. In reality all you need to do is take out the bolts for the tensioner and lift the tensioner enough to fish it out with a small 90* angle pic. Doing it this way only takes about an hour each side and generates massive amounts of money for the technician.
