Stuck throttle

Stuck throttle
I have a 96 2.8 12v auto Avant. Leaving work today (it was a 15 degree day), warmed the engine up a little and left. Within a 1/4 of a mile after a short acceleration the throttle stuck. Pumping the pedal did nothing, pulled off to the side of the road and shut her down. Restarted and still it wanted to go to the moon, shut it down again. Pumped the pedal a bunch of times again and started it, seemed ok and idled around 750 rpm's. What can I check? The pedal action seemedto be free and not frozen. Btw I have been getting and clearing the EGR insufficient flow P401 code. Could that be related?

RE: Stuck throttle
There is an old recall out for that to replace the throttle body, it re-routes coolant to go through the TB so it doesn't freeze. Its a free repair. Call the dealer with your VIN number in hand to see if the recall has been performed.

RE: Stuck throttle
I talked to 2 dealers and both said the were no open recalls. It showed a recall in 98 to install a ground strap for the drivers air bag. Nothing about a TB which I specifically asked them about. The oneshopsaid to check that the carpet is not catching the pedal.....stock and snaped down matts, but I'll check that anyway.
