Default sunroof

I have an 1997 A-6 Quattro AWD wagon. Recently, after jump starting the car due to a weak battery, my sunroof opened on its own (with the switch in the close position) and refuses to close, no matter what position the switch is in. I have since then replaced the battery and entered my radio code to remove it from the safe mode. The sunroof remains open. I am wondering if there is a code that needs to be entered for the sunroof to operate again. Please advise

Default Sunroof reset after battery change?

I have the same issue now in my '96 A6. Anyone have an answer? I think there must be some sort of electronic "re-synchronizatoin" that must occur after the battery is reconnected.

Default RE: Sunroof reset after battery change?

The only way I have been able to get around the problem is to manually shut the roof with the ignition off and the switch in the closed position - remove the cover by the overhead lights and use the little handle to close it - then turn the ignition back on and everything is OK. Besure to remove the handle before attampting to use the power to move the roof!!

I'm sure there is a easier way but it is what I did.

You might try the switch in the position thatthe roof is in, pull the fuse for a few minutes, and then replace it and see what happens.

On my 1999 A6, whenever the roof gets stuck, I have to turn the car on and off repeatedly, while pressing the switch to the closed position. Seems like these cars electronics systems work in secquences, and if you EVER interrupt one of their sequences, it gets out of synch and needs to be reset.
