I just bought a 2001 A6, and the idiot who had it before me jacked up the removal latches so bad I couldn't remove the radio without snapping off pieces of the headunit to get at the latches -- Maybe there's a cleaner way but he had scratched it up and I planned to replace it anyway.

So I go to Audi this morning to get a new Sym I headunit, and the guy says that Audi is closing them out because they won't be manufactured or sold at dealers anymore, thus the $40 price.

Thought it might be useful info.
