Temperature Flap Motor PHOTO
1995, A6, 2.8L.Noheat condition was caused by temperature flap not moving. Installed new Flap motor and now flap is moving properly and heater is working fine. I don't know if the flap itself was stuck or the motor was stuck. I took motor apart and it appears to be working. All the gears mesh and rotate properly. I added some silicone grease to the gear teeth and closed it back up. Seems to work ok.
The plug has five pins. Pins 1 and 2 are thevoltage pins. It seems that reversing12V (minus and plus) on these twopins makes the motor move to it's full travelin both directions.
Here are some photos of the Temp Flap motor housingwith cover removedshowing it's associated gears, variable potentiometer and plug. Also2 photoswith cover back on.
