Threat Level Midnight Needs Brakes!
I have the same year/model/engine as you with 67,000 miles. My brake pads should be arriving tomorrow from Top Brakes. I bought the Hawk HPS front and rear pads, total $165 with shipping. Since you have the large openings on your rims you should be able to see or feel the single or dual pads. If not just remove the rim and take a peek.
Here is how to measure the correct rotor, 12.7mm or 22.7mm

You are measuring the distance the rotor "hat" protrudes from the rotor braking surface.
I would spend my money on the pads versus the rotors, others may disagree.
I know I need a need Torx bit as T50 is too small and T60 is too big to remove the front caliper.
The minimum rotor thickness is 28mm (1.1024"). I measured 1.2" on my front rotors so I too might need to replace if the shop refuses to turn them.
I will probably work on it this weekend. I will try to post a thread with pictures if all goes well.

I would like to replace lines and the brake fluid, but the service manual says it can't be done without the Audi service tool to run the ABS motor. Is this something a VAG tool can do? Mind you I don't know much about the VAG tool.
I considered the Hawk Pads, but my past good experiences with EBC pushed me towards the Yellow Stuff Pads that do virtually no rotor wear and stop with epic eyeball-popping force. My rotors were heavily worn, so I decided not to play cheapskate when it comes to the brakes. Not only that, they look cool
I can't wait to hear your results. I intend to post my results here as well. I am still not sure whether I will go DIY or take it to an Indy here in town who ussually treats me pretty good. My Pads and rotors show to be shipped so they will be in my hands sometime next week. I will follow up with some pics.
I am now leaning towards red caliper paint as a little extra special touch. The yellow paint is harder to find at local stores and I think it may be a little too bright. Red will kind of match the S-LIne Logo. I will probably go with the Duplicolor kit as I dont want to deal with spraying them. The G2 kit looks good, but doesn't seem to justify being twice as much money. I am surprised no one on the forums has any good feedback on this little project. Oh well, I will be the guinnea pig this time. My biggest issue right now is that I dont have a way to get all four corners up at the same time to paint the calipers. I may have to spring for jack stands that could bump the cost, but I need them anyways.

The new Brakes and Rotors came in today. I took a pic and put it on my Garage. If you are considering the EBC Yellow Stuff Package, take a look. I will get them on this next week and will report back with some pics. I hope to paint the calipers, but I don't know if I will put the brakes on myself yet. I may just have someone else do it and paint the calipers at a later time.
Impressions: The front rotors are big and heavy the rear are small and not so impressive. The front pads have a wear sensor built into the brakes which are not advertised at any of the auto parts websites I shopped at. Sizes of everything appears right. Hopefully, this will be an easy trek from here.
