ok i so i just need some clairification on this.. is there a timing chain and belt? and which one gets replaced? im just curious about this.. and does anything else ever have to get replaced such as the timing chains or what not? thanks

 

If you own a C5 a6 then you have belt. The belt needs to be changed more frequently than a chain does. Although a chain should last the life of the car.

 

Hahaha. Thanks for making this thread for me. I was curious if the C6 was chain driven or not. Jeff answered that for me. =)

 

i have 2.8l 30v and got chain and belt.. i have timingbelt and two small chains that goes between two the cams.
