timing belt locking tool
I have a question about the timing belt procedure on the 2.8 30v (1998 Quattro)
The Bentley manual says to use the cam locking tool when loosening the cam gear bolts, but then remove it before pulling the gears loose. I haven't seen this part of the engine up close yet...but I'm thinking, wouldn't it be better to leave the locking tool on there? Is there a risk of moving the cam when you're trying to pull the gear loose?
(note: I will almost definitely be using the special locking tool, even though I know there's some debate about this)
