Timing Belt parts?!
Hey guys,
i have a 1999, audi a6 2.8L Quattro, ... i will be getting my timing belt changed, the mechanics was obviously trying to get the parts for me at a high price, ( timing belt, tensioner, idler and water pump) for over 700$, plus: labour, oil change, antifreeze and such.
so i decided to go and shop around other places for the parts.
so far i have, the timing belt, tensioner, idler, tensioner damper, water pump, serpentine belt and a new thermostat and im still way under the 700$ price tag they gave me.
so my question is, what other parts do i need? i believe i need 3 seals, and what else?

I just ordered the ECS kit with the cam lock tool. $399
It was between ECS and Blauparts, went with ECS cuz it came with the cam lock for about same price of renting from Blauparts.
Both kits list a full complement of what comes with them, compare the kit lists to what you already have and you know what else you will need. A lot of the smaller stuff is considered "optional". The idea is that it is just easier to replace everything while you are in there than to wait for something else to fail and having to remove the front clip...again....again........again

on a different note, does anyone know where i could get new flexi pipes?
my left one i believe is busted.. my car is so loud..and not the good F1 kind of loud unfortunately

You might also shop www.autohausaz. I've purchased from both BlauParts and these guys and have been quite happy with both. Prices may be a bit sweeter with AZ. . .
