I've got a new A6 2.0TSE saloon with multitronic gearbox,being delivered to me next week. Its a company car so limited as to what options I could add to it when it was ordered. I need to add a tow bar, and I dont want to spoil the look of the car. I see that Audi do offer a retractable towbar for £700 - not sure if this is an aftermarket option though - and its £££'s

Just really looking for any advice that people can offer me, and if there are other types of retractable towbars that can be fitted to this car - or best to stick with audi direct.

It is only going be used for an average size trailer -not doing any serious lugging, (hence picking the petrol over the diesel)

I had a towbar fitted to my 05 A6. It was fitted by Audi, its removable, you cant get the wind up retractable fitted after manufacture. Its very good. However they did cut a section of the lower bumper away, you can see the cut from a distance, but its fine to live with.

My 2006 allroad (not the latest model), has this type of plug-in towbar, as factory fit.
