trans squeal when backing off & other Q's
Hi folks,
My 98 A6 C4 wagon has a squeal developing... seems to be transmission related, it only squeals when it's warm and when backing off the gas, the pitch of the squeal changes when the trans shifts down.
Any ideas?
Should I get the trans oil done at a local chain? I know Audi fluid only is recomended, but is it a must? I'm guessing NTB would use some other brand, not go buy it from Audi.
Also, is there any way to tell if a timing belt is OEM or a replacement?
I was shown a receipt for a 101K timing belt change at the small dealer I bought it from but he wouldn't let me keep it because it had the original owners details and I've allways been a little suspect about that.
145K now and thinking if it was the original, I'm living on borrowed time!
