Default Transmission Help
Hello I Have a 98 Audi A6 and for some reason my car sometimes gets stuck in 3rd gear if i turn off the car and restart it it seems to work fine is there anything that i can do to fix this problem

Scan it for codes. What happens if you manually shift it out of 3rd? How many miles are on your car/trans.

Default transmission
i try to shift it out of 3rd and if i down shift or move it to the tiptonic shift it does not do anything now it jerks real hard when i put it in reverse

if you have it looked at now you may be able to fix it cheaply. But if you continue to ignore it you are certain to spend more.
