Default Transmission never serviced...

Original owner of 2000 A6 Avant Quattro. 100k miles. 2.8 liter. Tiptronic.

I am ashamed to admit that to my knowledge the transmission has never been serviced. Maybe fluid "topped off" during routine maintanance, but I have never taken it in specifically for tranny service.

The car runs great. No slip or any other sign of any tranny issues.

Was I supposed to have serviced the tranny and, if so, when?

Given that I didn't... what should I do now? I want to keep the car for another 100k miles.

Thanks.

Replace fluid and filter. Not as simple as old cars, but can be done. I have a DIY in PDF if you want it.

Thanks. I've heard there is a concern in doing it at this point and, when I do it, I should keep my old fluid and actually put some of it back in along with new fluid.

Question is... do I just perform a normal fluid/filter change, or should I do anything special given that the fluid is so old?

fluid/filter change. Do not reuse old fluid.....why do a change if you're going to reuse old fluid?
www.blauparts.com has a great kit for tranny service.

Dido. You shouldn't use the old fluid. Also do NOT flush the tranny. Just replace the fluid and filter.

Doesn't Audi say the fluid is good for the "lifetime" ~ which iirc was technically about 100k?

lifetime = 100k +/-

change fluid with new fluid.
