Default trunk lip/exhaust

I have seen a couple of A6's with the trunk lip/spoiler that really kicks off the rear end looks of the car. WHat site can I order that from and do they come painted to match your car or do you have to paint them yourself? What about a kit to dump the dual exhaust out the back with tips? In 2001 they are hidden and dump straight down behind the parking sensors.

This has been covered many, many times. You may want to search the forum and/or check out Stoney's Links (see my sig for the URL) to find some of this info on this and other forums.

That said, let me give you a few pointers...

The two most popular lips for the A6 are the BMW M5 spoiler and the Audi OEM RS6 spoiler. The former is quite a bit cheaper (even if you get the BMW OEM one; you can get them really cheap if you go with a knock-off available on eBay) and is quite nice in that it's pretty subtle. The RS6 one was used on the C5 A6 for the 2004 S-line. It's more expensive (around $450) but integrates EXTREMELY well onto the A6. Here's a URL on an install done by a friend of mine: RS6 spoiler install

If you want to go more extreme than that, do a search on eBay and I'm sure there are options to graft 747 wings onto anything. You know how silly some spoilers can get. If the above two options are too subtle for your tastes, you may want to check out lltek.com. They've got a more agressive one that some people like.

Regarding the exhaust tips. Not hard to do. You can buy a decent set of magnaflow exhaust tips and modify the valence of pre-2002 A6es to expose the tips. You basically cut off the downturn and weld on the new tips. You need to cut out the valences to accomodate and trim with door edging. Check out Stoney's links for a couple of write ups on how to do this.

Good luck.
