Default Turning off heater?

I am occasionally in a dusty environment and would like to shut off the heater under those circumstances. It appears to me that it is not possible to do so, other than manually turning the blower speed down, or turning it to a temperature that causes air conditioning and hopefully the dust would be extracted then.

Any thoughts on this? I have a 2006 A6.

The "econ" button is the on off switch for the ac. Perhaps it works for the heat as well. If you just want to keep the dust out the recirculate button should do the job as well.
