Default Unknown Alert Symbol

2003 A6 w/ 2.7L Turbo.

Recently observed a symbol in the dash that looks like a circle surrounded by another segmented circle.

I am thinking it is a brake pad wear alert however I don't find that symbol in the Owners manual or Bentley's.

Anyone know what it is?

Thank you

Yeah, it looks something like that, the ( ) are broken up into three sections each.

I agree, it must be the front pads...

Thanks

Yep, That's it "Brake Pads Worn"

Thanks OGBULLYLOCDAWG

Pads and Rotors are on order: Akebono pads and Centric Drilled and slotted rotors

Thanks again

TomKat, Did you check to see if you have 2 pads per rotor or 4? These models have 2 possibilities for brake setups & rotor sizes.

CRuby,

Yes I checked, it is a two pad /caliper setup.

Turns out there are two different rotor diameters as well 312 and 321.

I got the parts at Rock Auto and installed the pads and rotors Saturday

Are the front pads the only ones with the sensors? And how do you tell what type and size pads and rotors I have on the car?

Default Fronts only

The sensors are only on the Fronts.

You can tell The type of pads required by looking at the Calipers

The link below will help with both the Rotor Diameter and Pad Type

Audi Brake Rotor Options - How To Measure Audi Brake Rotor Size

BTW- If you do the rears you will need a special tool that pushes the pistons in while twisting them. The tool is usually free from places like AutoZone regardless of whether you buy the pads there or not.

Good Luck
