Default This week's MPG

Drove 295.8 miles
Added 16.453 gallons
Paid $50

295.8/16.453 = 17.978484

So, roughly 18 MPG for this week. I'd say about 60% of my driving has been stop and go and 40% has been freeway. Punched it a few times, but for the most part drove conservatively, although not like a granny.

Seems pretty good given the mix. I'm probably doing 70% highway and getting around 22. Just switch plugs and went to synthetic oil, may have realized a slight improvement. Doing drivetrain fluids next. I have the tires inflated to the highway specs.

that's not bad for a 4.2 Quattro and 16.5 gallons for $50[:-]that's cheap, the same here would cost $160 or £80

Today was the first time I've ever paid over $3 per gallon. I am disappointed with how badly it has gotten in just a matter of a few weeks. Oh well, the car is staying regardless! [8D]

And I have been playing with the slap-shifter a bit to get a better feel for it. I would imagine if I was real easy on things I could get it up to 20. The computer says 18.3mpg for the average.

On a side note, I started left foot braking today... Not too bad so far. If anyone is into learning it helps to keep your heel on the floor to absorb some of the weight that you would normally use for the clutch pedal. Similar to the accelerator foot heel resting on the floor.
