Audi A6 The mid-sized Audi A6 model offers more room to the driver and passengers over the A4 line.

What should I expect.

Default What should I expect.

My mistake, on my earlier message I said I had a 2006 4.2,Its acutally a 2002 4.2.. it was a long day when I wrote the message, thanks for the help..

I love my 2002 Audi A6 4.2, but thanks to this rainy weather we have been having, my A6 is now in the shop for repairs. Maybe someone out there has experienced the same situation. Now here is my situation.

Somehow water entered my front passanger footwell up to 8",I was parked on a hill, nose down, so the water stayed in the footwell and stopped at the lip at the base of the passanger seat.
Facts: no window was left open, the sunroof was closed and the windscreen does not seem to have leaked, Has anyone experienced this before?

Damage: the computer module for the automatic transmission was totally submerged, It will need replacing, wire bundles along with harnesses were also submerged. What should I expect for electrical issues for the near future? if any?

My Audi is in a great shop, just outside of Boston. They specialized in Audi's andI have total confidence in them and know they will do an amazing job. But we all know water and electrical componets dont mix. So has anyone out there had this happen to them. I love my A6, but dont want the headache of future electrical issues. Any input would be greatly appriciated..

thanks for letting me rant

This is first I've heard of this problem in the C6's. It is a known problem with the C5 where if the drain plugs in the battery compartment of the engine bay become clogged then water can get into the passenger footwell through the cabin air filter.

With your car being an 06' wouldn't it still be under warranty? Did the dealer say this wouldn't be covered?

Pardon my minor noobness, but perhaps there is a manufacturer fault and this can all be repaired for free? Considering your car is almost brand new '06 I don't see how this could be happening unless the car was actually submerged. That is my first thought...

My second thought is that if you get the damages repaired, what is to say it doesn't happen again? Make sure they are able to find the cause so that it can be fixed first or prevented again.

That is all I can offer to help, but my initial reaction would be to have the stealership look at it, unless you void your warranty some how.

Good luck!

If the car is an 06, and therefore still under warranty, why is it not at the dealer?
