Whats everyone's MPG on the A6?
I have always calculated gas mileage (miles driven/gallons) on all my cars, including thisA6 for the last 65k miles. The computer is about 2 mpg optimistic.
Around town: 18-20 mpg
Highway @ 55-60: 27-28 mpg (very rare since I don't have patience to drive this slow)
Highway @ 70-75: 23-25 mpg (normal)
Highway @ 75-90: 20-22 mpg (with bursts to 100-110)

Thanks WolfsA62.8Qfor tha advice. I didnt do exactly what you said but, whenI changed my battery not to long ago the computer had to reset itself obviously and im now getting around 14.6

I drive 100 miles a day @ $3.00 per gallon
21 MPG 97 Avant Q = $14.28 per day or $71.40 per week
25 MPG 89 200QT = $12.00 per day or $60.00 per week
31 MPG 98 VW Jetta 2.0 = $9.67 per day or $48.35 per week
My *** hurts from sitting in the Jetta! [sm=boohoo.gif]

I'm seeing (according to the trip comp) 20.5, but haven't bothered calculating it myself. It's hovered in that neighborhood for months. My driving is about 50/50 hwy/city and I'm not shy with the gas pedal. 2001 A6 2.7T w/tip and 235/40/18's. I actually have a (once intermittent, now constant) check engine light on, and may have better numbers once I get that addressed.
I'm curious about you guys who've chipped your engines as to the change in mileage since getting it done. I imagine its hard to pin down since you'd be more likely to drive like you want to get your $$$'s worth, but what difference do you see (increased use of throttle not withstanding)? Plan to chip before the year is over, and I guess this is something I should consider.
In my 2001 2.7T tiptronic I got about 18-19 MPG in my daily driving (mixed highway w/ heavy traffic and local roads) and in my 2002 4.2 I get about 17-18 MPG (also mixed, but less highway traffic). I'd probably get more if I didn't gun the car to hear the growl!!!
