Default windshield wipers

OK I just bought botch windshield wipers from Auto zone for my 2001 A6 and when I put them on the one on the drivers side fits fine but the passenger one is hitting the plastic between the window and the hood of the car. Is there any way I could adjust something to make them fit or am I just doing something wrong? I think the windshield wiper arm has to be adjusted higher. How do I adjust the arm?

It might be too long -- compare it to the original blade. Alternately, pull the whole arm off and rotate it a couple notches upwards so the wiper does not go down so far.

Pull the arm off and move it slightly. Pull up on the cap at the base of the arm, take the nut off, pull up on the arm then re-install it over one spline, reinstall the nut and push down the cap.

Good luck,

Bob

Original is SWF. You can get it from Amazon for about the same price as the Bosch one from a local supplier. BTW, the SWF driver side and passenger side wipers are different.

And yes there is a difference between the factory SWF wiper and the universal Bosch.
