Default Wire Identification 2.8 L, 1995

After more than a week of having the car under ice, I did a little bit of "house cleaning" and took the cowl off to rid of the ice stuck on it.

After taking it out, I noticed also ice under the heater unit housing. While trying to de-ice the area, I noticed a loose wire with a plastic head (?).
I have no idea where it suppose to be plugged in, or where used to be plugged in (if it ever was), but on it it says "VDO 1"
(I wanted to jot down the numbers, but I got into something else and forgot).

The wire pops up in the location seen in the picture... passenger side, the very top of the engine bay, under the cowl.
If you guys have any idea or know what that wire suppose to be, please share your insight. I appreciate it, thanks.
