Default Wiring schematic for 2001 A6 2.7, anyone?

Does anyone have the wiring schematic available for a 2001 C5 A6 2.7T? I had the problem 2 weekends ago where my car wouldn't start - ended up testing the battery, fuel pump (FP) relay, and FP fuse. All was fine. This lead me to pull out the voltometer and after testing numerous things, I found out my fuel pump wasn't getting power. The ended up "jump starting" the wires to the FP with another wire and a 12v source - car started right up. Now she is still starting (w/o the other wire) as if I gave it up a little bit of juice, but now she is starting funny again. How should I go about "fixing" this electrical problem? Do I need to run a brand new wire from the connector under the driver panel all the way back to the FP? or is it possible to just replace the connector to the FP to where ever the connector wires connect off the main electrical system in the rear? If anyone could please give any input on how they think I should fix this, I'd greatly appreciate it! Happy thanksgiving!

Sounds like a fuel pump relay (or a bad fuel pump - the direct electric may have been enough to get it going now it is dying again). The fuel pump relay is somewhere near the fuses, either in the side panel or under the steering column. I would try swapping it out first (less expensive fix) before changing out the fuel pump.

You didn't read what I wrote Bob - but I still appreciate your response. The relay was one of the first things checked and is perfect. The fuse is perfect. The FP itself is perfect. lol It is the wiring connecting to the fuel pump that is causing the problem - that weekend it has absolutely no power going to it at all. Now there is power after me connecting an additional wire to a 12v source + the wire (going bad) up under the dash by the firewall. I need a wiring schematic to see what I'll be dealing with in order to fix this electrical problem. Audi's over 100k become full of electrical problems after a while. Just like my short in the wiring to the rear dome lights. Sometimes they work - sometimes they don't.

The only wiring diagrams I have seen are the ones in the Bentley manuals. While these may be good for building the car, they are a pain to use to troubleshoot. Each time I have a problem, I have to spend a few hours going through the manual drawing out the circuit I am having problems with. I have found a few "issues" with the Bentley diagrams (incorrect pin numbers ect.)

So, if anyone knows how to get better diagrams.... please post the info.

A quick look at "ElsaWin" on ebay, shows it may be better than eBahn (Bentley) for most things... (like cost!) but it looks like the diagrams are the same.

For example, the wire to power the heater/ac fan goes though 4 pages to get from the relay to the fan. No wonder the wire in the car doesn't work!

I just found an Electrical wiring bentley manual for sale however it claims it was published in 2003 and covers the 1998-2000 A6 Sedan/avant w/ & w/o quattro. Why wouldn't it cover 2001 when '01 was still pre-facelift? (and the year I need...of course!) lol
