I agree. Only takes few min to find a local guy to re-build one. I've had to get two of my previous vehicles done. Took it to the same guy both times. Spent 140$CDN both times. Got great service and 2 yrs warranty both times. And never had a problem with either after the rebuild. Support your local guys ...

Just beware of the law of unintended consequences if your original alternator is a 120-Amp unit.

That was the problem with my alternator
BTW I own a 1989 100Q and replaced the failed original alternator in 1996 with a rebuilt Bosch...never had a problem since until 3 months ago...symptom was the Ammeter showed not charging, but Alt (BAT) trouble light was not lit up
so I replaced the voltage regulator for $34.00 and the problem was solved (brushes were well worn on old regulator and the Bosch still lives on)!

yes the part will be fine. a little heavier but it should be a good bargain i bought one and has been a year o problems
