Would you consider buying a car with this history
I am considering the purchase of this car. It is an A6 2011 Premium Plus 3t. It has all options car looks new on the inside etc. all eqpt works fine. It has damage history as follows
California
Damage Report Accident reported
Vehicle involved in a sideswipe collision
It hit a parked motor vehicle
Airbags did not deploy
Timing chain tensioner seal replaced
Engine removed to complete repair
Two wheel alignment performed
Engine checked
Oil and filter changed
Piston rings replaced
Alignment performed
All work is reported to have been performed through the Audi Dealership. No structural damage reported. Title is not salvage or marked. The price reflects the history. I will get a Prebuy Inspection.
Do you have to remove the engine to remove the timing chain..? Piston rings replaced.. ? The car has 12000 miles on it since this report and there is no other report of unusual service other than regular maintenance since the accident. I traditionally would not consider a car that has been wrecked but this is a very nice car. Priced below wholesale and all work reported as dealer performed. Thoughts ?

Better leave it alone. Replacing rings due to an accident and pulling the engine to fix a tensioner does not compute. If you are a qualified tech with a garage with a lift and a daily driver, it might be a good deal.
