Wuz up with the HP and brakes?
You actually did ask which chip to buy:
I wrote that GIAC has different programs, which means yes there are different versions for the 2.7T and S-Line. And I didn'tsay "your" tuner, I saida tunerwould be able to help as in, email them and ask if they have chips for the S-Line, which means they would be able to help more than forum users who never had to get a chip for an S-Line since they don'town one.

So if the programming is different between the A6 and the S-line, if you was to get the S-line chipped, because the chip its re-programming the computer, would the chip give it 320hp (the 70hp gain) or 335hp? From what I've been reading, all the chips are for the A6, not the S-line.

Slee22 is right. You werepointedto a couple chip options and advised totalk to the experts. Or we can make up answers for you here, if you prefer. When I get a leadon a part or upgrade, I email or call the mfr and ask them questions, doing enough due diligence to make sure I am not being fed a line of marketing bs.
I was just looking for numbers, not necessary a chip, thats why in my second post, I stated "If I was to geta chip". I understand that I would need a GAIC chip if I was to get one, but TI3VOM gave me the answer I was looking for (Thedrop in HP if I was to get the wrong chip). I felt Slee22 was basically telling me to goto a tuner and ask them (thats the way I took it). I was not trying to disrespect him (sorry), its just that TI3VOM gave me the answer I was looking for.
I suspect that there is more than one chip for your S6. You need to run a "google" search. I expect you will find APR, GIAC, and others. Read up on the top 2-3 and then either email or call the supplier with specific questions. My indie shop distributes GIAC, so that was their natural recommendation. Caveat emptor. However, I researched the GIAC and the others as well.
If you chip, you should consider replacing (or be prepared to replace) your OEM diverter valves (DV) and throttle body boot (TBB) with heavy duty replacements. Again, lots available and I took the recommendation of my shop. No problems from 79-102k so far.
I suspect that the tuning differential in your S6, that provides the extra 15 hp, will beoffset by a new chip. Therefore while my A6 supposedly went from 250 to 318 hp, yourchange may be 265 to 318 hp. Now, maybe there are exhaust or other differences that will give you more. S6's aren't as common as A6s and it appears there is not as much specific expertise on the forum.
Do your homework. But when you want specific technical information, you have to get that from the manufacturer. GIAC's site has lots of test result graphs. Do I believe them....kinda. My A6 is faster in low gearsand pulls incredibly in 3rd thru 6th. Does it really make 318 hp? Don't know. Could I have gone with a more radical chip for more hp - yes (APR I think makes stage 2 and 3). But there is more riskof turbo damage. What I really liked, but have only taken advantage of once, is that the 133 mph governor was removed with the chip. I've had the car to147 and think there was maybe another 10 mph remaining, but I ran out of straight road (and guts).

He doesn't have an S6, he has an A6 S-LINE model. Which all that basically is that it has a sportier trim level/look. And his stock tuning gives him 15 more HP. I am sure that all the they really did to get the extra HP is make a tiny bit more boost than a regular stock tuning. I am almost certain that if he called GIAC and APR they would tell him that the performance chip for a regular A6 and an A6 "S-Line" will be the exact same tuning.
I think the concernin this discussion centers around the stock mode of each chip. Personally, I would like my stock mode to return to the factory tuning of 265 hp, not 250. Ifone never intends totoggle backto stock mode, then this obviously will not be an issue.
I dont trust it. I guess you can say "I paid for the extra 15HP and I wanna keep it". I think I'm just gonna get the transmission chip. Is there any difference between the S-Line suspension and the sport suspension? Like I said in the being, I can't find anything on this car.
