whats up soo i just got back from the dealer and found out my 01 s8 needs a lot of work


timing belt
upper suspension links
prop shaft seal
all diff seals.


dealer quoted me at a staggring price of 5500...which i totally cant afford

im in the metro boston area, does anyone know of a good shop with better rates?

You need to get under the car and check how bad the prop shaft leaks really are, if they are only sweating then there isn't any need to replace them, technicians up sell these because they are easy to do and they pay VERY well.
As for the timing belt get that done if you are over 80k miles, might as well get the water pump+thermostat done all at the same time because its all in there.
The upper links don't have to be done immediately, you'll just notice a clunk when turning more than likely, the bushings wear out.
The T belt+water pump ect should cost you around $2500 at the dealer.
