Post 2003 audi a8 l code p0730

Hi everyone,

i have 2003 audi a8 l that has the code p0730-incorrect gear ratio, the vehicle drives fine, and then after it warms, the prnds lights turn in to a block and the vehicle kicks into limp mode. We already replaced the neautral park switch, but the problem still exists. Also when vehicle is parked, and when i try to push the car the passangers front wheel is locked up, but drivers side front wheel is not locked up in park. Please help, i hope it's not the whole tranny that just went. Thanks

Only one thing will cause that code, an internal transmission failure. It could be something as small as slight slippage, or a bad torque converter, none the less, it will need to be taken to a transmission pro. The dealership will try and get you a remanufactured unit right off the bat, you don't want to do that. Call around and ask for shops that are familliar with VW/Audi or ZF transmissions in particular.

Thats a tough break, i would still call around for the best prices on re-builds. If he charges more than $3,500 then its probably too much.
