2004 a8l
All,
Looking at adding a 2004 A8L to the fleet. Car has every option, 71k miles, and is priced at my local Audi dealer for $20k. It is in great shape both mechanically and cosmetically and drives like a new car. What specifically should I be looking for? What are the trouble spots that I may have missed?
Thanks.

The timing belt/water pump, thermostat, rollers, and tensioners will be due at 80k, so thats like a $2,000 repair right off the bat. The upper control arms will also be shot if they haven't been replaced already which you will notice a banging noise when making a hard turn. Take a look at the sticky to get the full picture, the 04 has the most design defects because its the first year D3 A8.
