Hi all! Does anyone have any experience with repairing MMI screen on D4 A8? On D3, there are gears that need to be replaced, and those are sold all over the place, with numerous videos on howto replace them. For the D4, I could not find any Information, a couple of people are selling a single gear ($60+ from China) and claim that it fixes the problem, but no installation instructions or videos to be found, so I could at least confirm the solution. Has anyone dealt with this issue on a D4? TIA!

 

I was having a similar issue, not specifically with opening or closing as it does this fine, however, upon the screen opening it would start on but when fully open would go off and the display is black.

I found a nice video from HiTechElectronic in Van Nuys, CA and they posted this video on YouTube


It shows the common power wire that becomes brittle for a relatively easy repair or you can send them the unit.
