I bought a 1997 for $10,000 and I do see some electric gadet ussues, but they don't worry me too much. Electric headrests are a luxury I can live without for a while. My car has 58,000 on it and was a lease deal, but as was said here bewar who the owners were. With the new gas prices and all, these cars have dropped in price. I just look at my car as the one luxury I spoil myself with.

Oh and BTW I live in NH as well.

Hehe, I bought my 99 A8 4.2Q during the last gas crisis too, back in October. I only put about 400 miles on it per month, so the price of gas doesnt worry me much. In fact I'm hoping it'll go even higher so that the geritol crowd gets their Cadillac/Buick galleons off the freeways. [>:]

$17K for a 99 is way too high. Spend $4K more and get a 01 S8.

Track a couple of cars on Ebay to see where they sell and that'll give you an idea.

I paid $10.5 a year ago for my 98. $3000 for timing belt service and $3000 for coilovers and control arms. I'm in the process of replacing the transmission. After it's all said and done I'll have spent over $20K on the car. Not that I'm complaining but don't over pay.

It sounds like there is a lot of differnece in what everyone is paying for service. I also replaced my thermostat in my 01 A8L, cost me $230 with new fluid. I bought all the new suspension parts for my 98 A8, control arms and ball joints, 14 pieces in all I believe, for $600 and spent one day installing them myself. They were pretty easy to do, brakes also, just takes a little elbow greese.

I just paid $8,700 for a 2000 with 140k, original owner in great shape. That's one of the cheapest I've seen out there for a facelift car. I'm in CT too and now own (2) 2000 A8's !!

I think I saw that car. Was it on eBay? I thought about getting it for parts (my '99 JUST recently hit 90,000 miles) just because of teh price. I've got other priorities, at the moment, so I let it pass. Also, the interior (most of teh parts *I* want are interior parts) was the rong color...
