For everyone that is still asking if this problem has been resolved there are a couple workarounds. As Dave has stated earlier disconnecting the wind deflector motor is the quickest and easiest way of doing things. However if you wish to keep it functioning you can just pump a crap ton of grease where the motor is. While pumping all the grease does help reduce the noise, in most cases it will not fully get rid of it. To keep the deflector working and have no noise at all I would say bring it to a shop for a motor replacement.

Why wouldn't you fix it properly ?
There are many threads on this, the more informative ones for D3 are not on this forum though... google is your friend.

On a side note, you'll likely generate a DTC in module 38 by disconnecting.
