Default Cluster Problems

Hi all, Yyesterday I noticed 2 strange things on my 97 A8 4.2Q :

1. I noticed on my cluster that the fuel MPG display randomly goes from 0 MPG to any number and drops erratically while I was driving yesterday and I had a half tank of gas.
2. My temperature display reads in Celcius instead of Fahrenheit.

Any ideas of why this could be happening? Thanks for your anticipated assistance.

I think you can change the C to F by holding down the recirc button and tapping the plus temp button.
