I'm loosing coolant slowly and I can't find the leak. It's been tough as the car is always wet from driving around in the snow, but I can't seem to source the leak anywhere. It's not pooling anywhere and the oil does not look cloudy. Are there any common places to check on the 4.2s?

 

Sorry for the late reply, the most common places to leak on the 4.2L are the thermostat and water pump, both are behind the timing belt. Another place is a cracked coolant expansion tank.

 

Auditech, There is never a need to apologize! I amsue your not getting paid for this! Any help in any amt of time is very much apreciated and not taken for granted. I'll give them a look. Spring break is this week so I won't be in school and working. Who knows I might actualy get time to wash the car if this weather holds out!
