Default D3 iPod attactment for 2004

I have been trying to find a system that will go through the MMI in my 2004. I know I should have gotten a newer Audi A8 but I did not learn about this until after I purchased my A8. Although ever where I look they are going to charge me $700 or more for this iPod attachment.

My question is does anyone have a system that works well with the MMI that has a 2004? I have read reviews that some do not function well with the MMI system and if I am going to spend that much money then I want to know if it works.

Default It works!

I just got an IPOD attachment for my A8 2006, and I paid $700 for it, and I have to say it works great, whenever I connect my IPOD to the car, it uploads the names of my songs and organizes everything appropriately so that you are using your MMI system to control it. I don't know if you could get it for cheaper, but anyway best of luck, hope this helps.

I installed a mobridge unit ipod + blue tooth and it works great. Only thing is the ipod funtion shows up as a cd #, cd 1 all songs etc. The blue tooth removes that on star and works like the factory one and the steering wheel controls work also. They sell the ipod unit alone and i think it is cheaper.Look into it before you buy the audi unit.

Did you install the mobridge unit on a 2004?

Also, a separate, but related question, is there a way to simply get an AUX jack installed on the 2004 A8 head unit?

I ordered the mobrigde unit. I had plenty of questions with the stereo guys that are going to install the unit and this is the site they gave me; http://mobridgeinc.com/products/audio#proddetail-3. It seems to work just fine but it does take the item of the CD player. Hope this helps and yes it does work for the 2004.

Looking at their documents, it does state that on an Audi you can retain the CD changer. Am I missing something?

It adds 6 more cd s to the display ,the only thing that bugs me is that it alternates ipod to cd slots, a minor problem. It has an aux input and I use it for the rear headrest dvd and the movies sound like a home entertainment system , kids love it.
