Default engine vibrations

Hi all, i jsut bought an 04 A8L and noticed when i was parked or at a stop light there seemed to be an engine vibration that radiated through the car into my seatthat was/is somewhat uncomfortable. Does anyone know if this this a known issue?

Default RE: engine vibrations

That's coming from your engine. It's idleing at a slightly lower than you'd expect 700-ish rpm. You could always tear it down and have it blu-printed. That MIGHT cure it. Option 2 is to hold your left foot on the brake while gently pressing the throttle, to bring the revs up to around 850-1000, where their natural frequency will render the vibrations less noticable. OR, as I like to do to obviate MY noticing the vibrations, crank teh stero up to ear-drum-shattering/bleeding-levels. If you've got something GOOD que'd up, the vibs from teh bass will overpower ANYthing the engine could produce...

I had a similar vibration in my 04 A8L which I purchased in January. I was advised to not use premium fuel in the winter and this would cure the vibration. After two tanks of regular unleaded it is as smooth as can be.
