on my 05 a8 the nav will not reboot to the original screen. it either shows "check navigation dvd", in which case that message shows for days or hours, or it shows my last destination with options to insert stops (which allows it to work by using my new destination as a stop). any suggestions as to cause or cure? I note if the problem is the dvd unit used ones are available for a few hundred bucks.

 

just a thought, have you tried to eject the disc and reinsert?

I have had an issue where it would not read the disc for some reason and an eject and insert worked for me.
