I am looking at buying a 2006 A8 with 42000 miles, does anyone have any particular items I should be aware of during pre-purchase.

Gut feel is important to me. If it doesn't seem right, it probably isn't .

I tested the vehicle today and it had all the options and elcantra interior I was looking for although they are pretty tight on their price of $29900 but I believe it does have 12 months remaining on Certified warranty which I will confirm on Monday

If it does have the CPO it maybe worth it.

 

Check KBB to get a ballpark price with the options.

It sounds about right, and CPO would be an advantage.

I paid $20k for an 05 A8L with 75,000 and no CPO.
Then immediately spent $1,500 on tires and $2,500 on 75k service.
Depends on your market though. I think mine was a good price for NC after comparing to others for sale that were at least $5k more for similar vehicles.

Assuming it's an A8 (not A8L), it's a decent price for a CPO with options...Full (headliner included) Alcantara interior?
If non CPO, it's at the top of the reasonable price range, but still OK if in great shape.
