Oil Change?
Hello all,
Just got my 2005 Audi a8 4.2 v8 about 4k miles ago (58k on the clock)
The service popup came up and says I need service in about 900 miles. I have a very good mechanic that will change my oil for me. I know i need the synthetic, but if he changes the oil and filter will it automatically reset this service countdown? I'd rather not be ripped off by the outrageous audi dealer
Thanks.!
Robert

The SRI light needs to be re-set electronically on the A8. You can do it yourself if you buy the vag com software for you lap top. www.ross-tech.com. You just need to buy the diagnostic cable to hook it up to the car.
The vag com is also a required tool for changing the rear brakes on your car as well as other countless diagnostic procedures on your car. Its worth its weight in gold.
