just as a matter of reference ( you never just change the oil without the oil filter ) its false economy for the sake of a few $s, when it comes to service dont cut corners

look, im trying to figure out why audi would putthis in the manual about the oil. then im reading in there that mixing any anti freeze is like, stop, pull over, the motors about to blow! then i ask around and anyone with mild knowledge looks at me like, what are you stupid? 10,000 oil? never change your tranny fluid? no dip stick? i say why not make sense audi? or adleast tell your dealers something logical as an explaination.

Well, I've got an O/C coming up, and I'm thinking about trying out Royal Purple. As far as "other" experiments... One of these weekends I'm switching to a higher boiling-point brake fluid and S/S lines, to go with my already drilled/slotted rotors.

Reports to the A8 section as info comes in/impressions are generated.

baby steps...

Next steps after that will be a cold-air-intake and a tip-chip, respectively...

baby steps

Audi's are ok to run up to 10k miles if you are using a full synthetic.. a few friends have sent oil samples in and had them tested at 5k and 10k miles, and they were the same.

Changing the filter and not the oil makes no sense what so ever..

If you change the filter change the oil.
