When my put my Parking Brake on my 07 A8 it gives the usual 2 second electrical motor sound and engages.

Sometimes however it keeps on turning, that electrical noise that you here goes on for 30 seconds, turning over and over.

The car has just come from its 15K service and the rear brakes are fine, has anyone else had this annoying problem?

I have a 2008 A8 since 8/10/08 and it's happened a couple times. I can, more or less, make it happen when you park the car without setting the parking brake ...and it seems to keep winding for maybe a minute. It did happen once after I had set the brake - so that was the exception. I'll probably complain about it the next time I have the car in the shop, but I'm not hopeful that they have the experience and smarts to find it. *I had had a bad experience with oem rims on my car, 5 trips into the shop*

 

Its probably a faulty parking brake motor, i haven't seen an A8 with that problem so i can't be sure on that.
