Tale of Two Audis...
Hello all,
Newbi here with a question for all of you gurus with sage Audi advice.
Two Audi A8's same year, same price (within $500). Car A has 100,000 miles; Car B has 144,000 miles. Car A has had 3 owners with no service records after 70,000 miles. Car B has had 1 owner and full service records (showing a second transmission and timing belt service). Car A is being sold by a dealer; Car B is being sold by the owner.
My question is this: Do you take a chance on Car A with the lower mileage but the somewhat unknown past, or do you go for Car B with 44,000 more miles and bullet-proof history.
Things that make you go Hmmmm........

The history is worth a thousand words, always buy a car that has a good history. Mileage really isn't an issue with our engines, just the major services. If treated correctly that 4.2L engine will last well over 300k
yeah, for one thing, not knowing abour A's service history, you're gonna hafta factor in a TB & tranny service, soon, which is going to add to your iinitial cost, just not initially, if that makes any sense. KNOWING its been done on B means, not only will you save a bit, because of teh higher mileage, you will save a bit more because you won't have to plan for a TB&tranny service.
