Default Weird problem I caused myself

So I'm driving along and need to charge my cell phone. Plug in to cig lighter socket and nothing. Looked inside and found a penny. (I keep change in ashtray). Trying to fish it out, I see a spark and blew a fuse. No big deal, I'll used the rear cig lighter socket until I stop for lunch.

Despite having blown the same fuse and replaced it last year due to the same problem, I can't seem to locate the right fuse. I'm pulling some fuses out holding to the light to see if one is blown. Didn't find it but back driving, I see the ESP light on. Hmmm. One of those fuses I pulled out must have put back in the wrong slot.

OK, not too much snow and ice driving this time of year, (especially Charleston, SC) so I don't worry about it until I get home today. I did find the right fuse for the cig lighter. (#3 in the yellow section). Checking anything to do with the ESP, I see #8 and #9 in the blue deal with ESP sensor and ABS for cars with ESP. Neither are missing and they are both good. Can't find any other fuse that seems to be missing.

Looking at the panel diagram and book, nothing lists ESP.

Any thoughts? No snow and ice for a while so I can live with it but since I know I caused this myself, I'd like to know what I did.

Inline testers are much preferred to just pulling fuses out with these vehicles.
They are about $5 and mine came with a big box of fuses I keep in the trunk.

My guess is you pulled the ABS fuse and that caused a DTC or 5.
Just clear it/them with VCDS and you should be good to go.
If you run into problems post a complete Auto-Scan and I'll have a look.

It lights up if the fuse is good while still in the circuit.
Very handy tool - got it when I blew the cigarette lighter fuse on the D3.
