Water caused electrical problem
2005 A4 AVANT 1.8 LITER QUATTRO. Street where I parked my car overflowed from heavy rain yesterday with water rising to my axels. I was alerted to the problem when my neighbor told me my car alarm went off and the water was rising. Luckily the rain subsided and I was able to move the car to higher ground. However, now my alarm system no longer works, along with the inside lighting, power windows, and power sunroof. Other than those problems everything else seems to be okay (I hope.).
Before taking the car in for, most likely, expensive repair, I thought I'd ask the experts in the forum.
Any help would be highly appreciated.
Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas.

bummer. I wish I knew of the specific modules of that car that may have gotten flooded but I don't. If you can get under there you may be able to see some or even a ground location that you could take off and clean.
I would also check in other areas such as behind dash, below windshield area and see of they got wet. That is most likely where a module would be of the things are don't work. Also of course check fuses.
If you find a module or relay you can take it out and blow dry it or stick it in a bag of rice for awhile to have the rice pul moisture out
Good luck.

Thank you for the info. I will check the fuses if I can find them. I can't get under the car and even if I could, I wouldn't know what to look for. Do you think disconnecting the battery and reconnecting it would help. By the way, no water got inside the car.
