I promise never to ask such a stupid question on this forumagain, but the car is 'new' (a '97 A8) to me and is in California in my sister's garage, while I am in Ireland (loong story). Dead battery, need to move car farther than a push, butthey can't findthe batteryeven with the vague hints of the manual. We called an Audi dealer in S.F.which alsotold us nothing more than"It is in the trunk somewhere". That is kinda funny, but not helpful. One of you guys have got to be able to explain better than that! Diagrams appreciated as alwaysbut directions are probably good enough. Advance thanks of a new A8 owner...

 

I assume you have figured it out by now but there is a removable panel on the insideright of the trunk.
