Default Will the IPhone work in my car

I have a '06 W12 and there is currently a motorola V600 in the armrest right now. The phone is constantly dropping calls (possibly because of AT&T) but it's also experiencing increase static on the line. According to the dealership, I can only replace it with a Motorola V710 to see if that fixes the problem.

Someone has told me they were able to use an IPhone 3GS cradle and the phone worked fine in their vehicle and another person told me the phone only charges and is used via it's bluetooth and not through the MMI.

Overall, I would like to put an IPhone in there and have it interfaced with the MMI system and not be used via blurtooth. Is this possible?

Any info. would be greatly appreciated.

Cheer!

Your car should have bluetooth. When you turn the car on turn on your bluetooth on your iphone and it should find the car. I believe the default pass code is 1234. The cradle will only provide you with two advantages. It will charge the phone when in the cradle, as well as use the car's antenna for better reception.

I would go the bluetooth route instead of plugging my phone in and out all the time. Leaving bluetooth on automatically pairs every time you enter the car. Although it is possible to interface it with the 3GS cradle. I've seen quite a few on ebay.
